One bit of malware placed on a site where developers for all these social media sites go and you’re famous. Well at least someone is looking for you. Apparently in the iOS sdk realm there is a site.. I won’t mention the name because it is still infected but.. if you go there without a proper patch.. yer skrewed. The malware got Apple, Facebook, and Twitter. Of course they say they are working hard to find out who hacked them, but also claim “no big deal”.. I’m paraphrasing of course
But these guys always say that there was no data loss. The FBI says they probably can’t even detect some of the security breaches in their system so how does Apple KNOW that there was no data loss.. or is that just what they say to the public. Anyway, beware of even seemingly legit sites.. you never know. Go where you have to go but… as always.. keep everything up to date and protected. Apple, Facebook, and Twitter developers hit these sites and got infected.. They are supposed to be the guys that really know what’s going on “within the code” and here they get hacked.. so imagine the every day user.. yeah creepy.

Installous down – app store for jailbroken iphones goes down.
Installous is down.
While we don’t break stuff that often we do tend to want to break the DRM on our phones. Who doesn’t want free iphone apps? I guess android users ;P But anyway the big dog on the block is down.. Installous was probably one of the more popular pirate app stores. We will see..
iPad Mini
Apple has made an ipad mini! Since it’s small I will make sure to have a mini article on it. ;P See? I’m done!
http://www.apple.com/ipad-mini/overview
OK that is a bit short so what do I think for real? Well the iPad mini might be cool depending on what you are going to do. When you put it next to some of the new eReaders I’m not sure it cuts the mustard. The new Kindle is about the same size and you can read in direct daylight. That being said the iPad mini is not simply an eReader.. it is a smaller iPad. So the first few things you’ll notice is that everything is shrunk down.. even the charger/data port. Which I actually kind of like. The other thing that gets shrunk in the process is the screen real estate.. well duh..
This is actually a feature. The only problem is that some stuff comes in by default quite small. It can be difficult to read text on the screen so most likely you’ll have to bump up your font size. If you’re near sighted you might really dig this but for others there will be some tweaking. All in all it’s pretty cool I could see how Doctors could really use something like this. There are a lot of industries where I could see this being very handy.
3d printed iphone cases
Yes, you can actually design and 3d print your own iphone case. You know I love 3d and you know WildPipe is all about games and the devices we play them on… so get one!
http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/09/app-brings-3-d-printing-to-iphone-cases/
3D printing is known as “Stereolithography”. It is widely used among cutting edge industrial designers. But now anyone who knows how to use 3d applications such as Autodesk 3dsmax or Maya can take advantage of this. If you don’t have the budget to buy expensive 3d software you’re still in luck blender3d offers a free software package that is also very highly regarded among game artists, designers, and hollywood. It is probably the best you can do for free and better than a lot of the stuff you have to pay for. Check it out at thier website: http://www.blender.org/
You may not be doing Hollywood stuff right out of the gate but there are plenty of tutorials on that site as well as YouTube.
Have Fun!

“The iOS Platform is Among the Most Popular Game Systems of All Time”
Toucharcade has just reported that :
“Pretty much everyone knows iOS is a great gaming platform. Heck, that’s why we’re all here right? But what would really be interesting to know is just how well the iOS platform compares to the actual dedicated gaming systems of the past 30+ yeas of video game history. Fortunately, the folks over at Asymco are pretty fond of crunching numbers and providing analysis, and they’ve figured a metric to reasonably compare iOS to other gaming consoles.”
“At this year’s WWDC Apple offered an update on Game Center accounts. The data we have so far is shown in the following graph.”

DEAD TRIGGER – a new mobile game that makes Wii U looks like yesterday’s news!
So who else watched the Nintendo E3 Presentation? Disappointed?
Well, it’s official. My phone will have better graphics than the Wii U!
And you will agree after you see this brand new game from Madfinger:
iPanel will be the new Apple TV
The new TV from apple dubbed recently iPanel runs about $800. They toyed with the idea of calling it iTV but opted for the iPanel. I think that is a much better choice since it is much more than simply a TV.
