Removing Carrier IQ rootkit on iphone and android phones
If you want to remove the Carrier IQ rootkit from your smartphone, Android, or iPhone here are some tips.
For the iPhone here are the instructions to remove the spyware: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/hardware/how-to-disable-the-carrier-iq-rootkit-on-your-iphone/16724
If you are on an Android Phone and would like to remove it check here: http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2011/12/how-to-remove-the-carrier-iq-rootkit/
Android is quite a pain. iPhone is pretty simple. If you’ve got a Blackberry that has the Carrier IQ rootkit on it you’ll have to wait. Blackberry said that carriers may have installed the rootkit on Blackberry but as of today there is no official word from RIM on how to remove the spyware.
There is also more information on this in a couple of other posts I’ve made as well as the links above. The topic is covered in depth.

iphone and android carrier iq rootkit
If you haven’t heard your phone possibly has a spyware rootkit on it. Carrier IQ is a company that claims to be collecting data about dropped calls however a developer found that it was in fact logging all your keystrokes and your GPS location… possibly more.
I got a little more information today and thought I’d share. From what I understand it is on over 150 million phones right now. It is on several major Android brand phones and also iPhones. The thing can collect data from your SMS texts and send it back to this company. I don’t like that much. I posted another article about it in more depth here: http://www.wildpipe.com/news/is-your-smartphone-spying-on-you/

control autodesk 3ds max with an iphone
Control cameras in 3dsmax with an iPhone.
Resident 3ds MAX nut back in the hizouse with a new script from “You Can Do It VFX”. The project is called iDevCam for iPhone and Autodesk MAX. This combo iPhone app/max script lets you do motion control (or in this case really, camera control) with your iPhone. Simply use your iPhone like a steering wheel to control the angle and some on screen stuff to control the rest. Very cool.
Apple patents pen stylus tech – New iPen or iStylus?
Ok so I hadn’t heard about this CrashOveride filled me in but Apple has filed a patent for some stylus or pen technology for a new type of pen with a more precise point. The current styli for tablets and mobile devices basically suck. The one for iPhones and iPads is just as blunt as your fingers are. I don’t really get the point.. literally and figuratively.
So if you’ve been looking for a precise pen or stylus for your iPhone, iPad, or other mobile device you may not have to wait much longer.
Engadget.com – Apple Pen Patent
Currently if you want to draw on a screen you need some very pricey equipment. I know of one called the cintiq by wacom. Very dope but about 2k. Out of my price range
When they come out with a tablet with precise drawing and writing tools I’m freakin in
iPhone 3d coming soon?
Apple has apparently filed a patent for 3d technology for the iPhone. The patent is related to multiple image sensor technology. My guess is that we may see a stereoscopic camera in the new iPhone or one soon to come. I can’t wait!
